I wonder if ads really bring any money in. I don’t mean to the really big blogs, but just the normal ones.
I think unless you are blogging professionally and are in a specific genre, ads bring nothing apart from bad impressions.

Great article and I love the chart - thanks for that - bookmarking for the next “strategy” meeting.

We do place ads on our company blog, but only for our products or products we endorse or encourage our clients to use. Quite different from having adsense willy-nilly all over the place. Our ads are more as a service and less as “revenue generating.”

Sure it should, if it’s a blog with good content and a nice design, one that provides value rather than just being another of those “me too” company blogs. Adsense, however, is a little iffy because it looks very unprofessional in my humble opinion.
