If you don’t work in the business you’d think an advertising agency should be fun. Wild and wacky creatives with strange haircuts, three martini lunches and a joint between meetings to keep the juices going. When in reality, they are generally risk averse, conservative, service organizations with a reactive not proactive outlook. And that’s too bad. My worst experience with this was at Leo Burnett. With the agency loosing accounts right and left and the ashes smoldering around us my bosses were caught “deer in the headlights” whilst the Internet storm-trooped into their safe old traditional landscape. Many of us “younger” folk tried in vain to wake the sleeping giant but they jest weren’t going to “get it”.

So they sold the agency to a French company.

New media will simply birth new forms of advertising companies. Yours seems to be doing well. Let the revolution continue.
