Good clarification Mathew! I wouldn’t take any of the comments personally, some people are just very close to the field of social marketing and see it as their duty to protect the “brand” and to strengthen the respected field they worked so hard to create. You raised some good points on the issue of taxonomy and labeling. When somebody asks me what I do, I rarely give my title, instead I describe what I do. Titles mean nothing to me anymore. It will be interesting to see how all these terms evolve…
