What is PandemicBlog?
PandemicBlog was created to promote discussion and share ideas about viral and social media marketing. While it’s technically a “company blog,” we passionately hate this term. Here’s what we care about:
- Context over dogma
- The power of viral and social media when used appropriately
- Participating in discussion in this huge think tank known as ‘the internet’
- Creating an unbiased source for information on and insight into viral and social media marketing
Our efforts to remain true to the values espoused by the likes of Seth Godin and David Meerman Scott coupled with our professional experience with viral and social media have earned PandemicBlog a respected place in the online marketing community.
Who’s behind PandemicBlog?
PandemicBlog is edited and maintained by Matthew Peters and Brennan White. As co-founders of Pandemic Labs, Matt and Brennan live and breathe viral and social media. We believe not only in the power of the tools, but that the theories of consumer engagement and consumer control are the future of marketing.
Likes- Engagement, the ’social’ part of ’social media’, on-demand media, puppies, music
Dislikes- Television commercials, interruption marketing (pop ups, floating windows, etc), dogmatic thinking, attempting to ‘control’ of the consumer, manipulation
Give us a shout, we’d love to meet you. You can email us here, find Matt or Brennan on Twitter, or head over to LinkedIn.
Who else makes up the PandemicBlog team?
Juan Gutierrez- Bogota, Colombia. Juan believes viral marketing is the next big thing in marketing, because of its accessibility. Having worked his entire professional career in traditional marketing, he is very interested in seeing how social media marketing develops and creates its own rules and codes. He’s excited to see how the traditional world adapts to this new trend.
In his own words, “Hopefully, SMM will live up to the web’s promise of “democratization” and we’ll see the better companies outperforming the wealthy ones on quality.”
Bernardo Sosa- Bernardo is a web evangelist with telecom sales background. He is passionate about the way new web tools are shaping the way we communicate, market products/services and spend time online everyday. He is particularly interested in how web 2.0 is rethinking the enterprise, how marketers are rethinking the Internet and how social media is motivating millions of people to challenge the status quo.
Bernardo is a Babson MBA candidate, has a B.Sc. in Telecom Engineering and is a self-proclaimed opportunity-obsessed entrepreneur/intrapreneur.
How can you engage PandemicBlog?
We believe in tapping into the collective wisdom and are always looking for insightful people with something to contribute to the discussion. We are open to new team members, guest posts, comments, partnerships, social media experiments, and anything else that can benefit the entire social media community. We actively want to be a part of any reports, articles, experiments or things that would otherwise contribute to the the discussion and make people think. Don’t hesitate to get in touch.
